Photograph subjects include Gordon Wear as a child, friends and family, military parties, and images of the Gordon Wear insurance agency. Scrapbook clippings and correspondence describe the 1967 flood in Fairbanks, Alaska, the 1963 Joint Civilian Orientation Conference, meetings in Puerto Rico, awards ceremonies, and materials from Wear's insurance company.

Gordon Wear drove up the Alaska Highway in the early 1950s, with his wife Doris, opened an insurance company, and settled in Fairbanks, Alaska. Gordon Wear was a prominent civic leader, member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Military National Civilian Advisory Board, as well as President of the Fairbanks Rotary Club.
